Our responsibilities

ǰ Qualifications Services (MQS) sits within Ngā Poutoko Aromatawai ǰ (formerly Qualification Services) here at ɫֱ.

MQS is responsible for the maintenance, development and review of mātauranga ǰ qualifications and Field ǰ unit standards. We ensure that the qualifications and unit standards are fit for purpose, and meet the needs and aspirations of whānau, hapū and iwi. 

MQS is guided by Te Whakaruruhau Matua and Whakaruruhau to maintain the integrity and validity of ǰ qualifications and Field ǰ assessment standards.

What is Field ǰ?

Field ǰ is a classification field in the Directory of Assessment and Skill Standards (DASS).

This field caters specifically to ǰ knowledge, pedagogy and skills. It gives national recognition to mātauranga ǰ.

Mātauranga ǰ qualifications and assessment standards

MQS is kaitiaki of all mātauranga ǰ qualifications from Levels 1 to 6. These are New Zealand qualifications listed on the New Zealand Qualifications and Credentials Framework (NZQCF).
